People who have attended past Legacy Conferences often describe the conference as being one, big family reunion of like-minded believers from all over the world, and for many, the Legacy Conference is a renewal event...where people attend to be encouraged by other brothers and sisters who also deal with the demands and challenges of disciple-making and urban ministry. For others, it’s an event where they’re able to laugh, joke, study, and learn with other attendees.
We understand and promote the importance of community in the Christian’s journey. We believe that we are our brother’s keeper and that we are called to hold each other accountable, motivate, encourage, and sharpen one another, and God has graciously allowed the Legacy to be a place where many people come and do just that.
From the laughing you’ll hear in the dorm rooms and halls, to the cyphers that take place between performers and attendees out in the yard, to prayers and studying that attendees participate in throughout the conference....the Legacy is more than an event. It’s a family reunion of believers everywhere!
The Legacy Conference serves to equip those serious about making disciples with biblically-based tools to go out into the world to preach the Gospel of Christ.
You will be challenged by four general sessions along the theme of "Imago Dei". Come and learn how you have been created in the image of God. In addition, choose from over 20 Workshop Tracks. Each Workshop Track will consist of eight hours of in-depth training (broken up into four 2-hour workshops).
You will experience significant growth in your Christian journey!
Besides receiving biblical and practical teachings through the workshops at the Legacy, attendees also receive the message of Christ through high-energy, thought-provoking hip-hop concerts and spoken word events featuring some of the urban Christian's well-known artists along with upcoming musicians and poets who fearlessly proclaim the word of Truth!
One of the main pillars of the Legacy Conference is to make disciples. On the third day of the conference, we put our hands to the plow by holding a major outreach event in one of the neighborhoods of Chicago.
We host outdoor concerts, a basketball tournament, food, face painting, moon bounces and various sports for kids and adults alike. We also make prayer teams available for those who desire prayer, and spread across the neighborhood to participate in evangelistic work.
